Standard equipment in T5 S S40 and V50 variants has been upgraded too, bringing rear park assist, retractable external rearview mirrors, auto-dimming internal rearview mirror and High Performance Sound to an already outstanding tally. These features are added to the S40 and V50’s already-standard LED daytime running lights and Bluetooth connectivity (now with audio streaming), as well as safety features including Volvo’s Emergency Brake Light system that warns drivers approaching from behind of impending danger by initiating a flashing mode during emergency braking.

The wide range of options in S40 and V50 models includes an electric sunroof, Volvo Navigation System, Xenon headlights, Blind Sport Information System (BLIS), a wide range of alloy wheels ranging up to 18 inches in diameter and a lowered sports chassis to complement the already responsive handling of the S40 and V50. The V50 also comes with silver roof rails to maximise its load carrying versatility.

All S40 and V50 models come with the powerful 169kW turbocharged five-cylinder engine, coupled to Volvo’s five-speed Geartronic automatic transmission, as standard.

Caspian Blue is a new addition to the colour palette (replacing Barents Blue) and all S40s now come with full body coloured bumpers and wheel arches.

The good news comes last. Prices for the S40 and V50 are substantially lower than the outgoing models, by as much as $3,960 in the S40 and V50 R-Design models.
